Chaired by Farhad Abdullayev, a plenary session of the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan has been held to consider the material received from the Central Election Commission regarding the results of the presidential election held in the Republic of Azerbaijan on April 11, 2018.

The event heard the reports from judges, speeches from the legal representatives of the interested side, and the opinions from the experts. After reviewing the material, the Constitutional Court gave a verdict on official approval and announcement of the results of the presidential election held in the Republic of Azerbaijan on April 11, 2018.

Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan Farhad Abdullayev read out the verdict.

The verdict says:

“The results featured in the protocol of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan of April 15, 2018, on the presidential election held in the Republic of Azerbaijan on April 11, 2018, shall be approved.

Candidate for the presidency of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Heydar oglu Aliyev shall be declared the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

This verdict of the Constitutional Court comes into force on the date of its announcement, is final and cannot be abolished, amended, or officially interpreted by any body or official.”

The national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was then played.

Farhad Abdullayev declared the plenary session of the Constitutional Court closed.

The plenary session was attended by MPs, representatives of the general public and media.
